Civic Theatre School Summer Camp
Civic Theatre School Summer Camp meets Monday through Friday for two weeks during the summer, July 15th - 26th. Students receive instruction in acting, voice, and movement, as well as master classes in such things as puppetry, stage combat, and design. This two week session culminates in a showcase for friends and loved ones. Students will have the chance to participate in our core curriculum with the following themes based on grade level:
Grades 1-2: 9:00am-12:00pm, "Fairytales Do Come True"
Have a magical time working with Civic staff while learning more about the enchanting world of theatre through engaging theatre games and activities.
Grades 3-8: 9:00am-12:00pm, "Mythology and Monsters"
Dive into mythical worlds and stories through captivating theatre games and activities designed to build a better understanding of students' theatre skills and knowledge.
Children in Grades 3-8 will have the option to participate in specials for an additional cost.
Grades 9-12: 6:00pm-9:00pm, "From Oklahoma to Hamilton and so Much More: How Rodgers & Hammerstein Paved the Way for the Musicals we Love"
Learn more about the most memorable musical theatre duo of all time, Richard Rodgers & Oscar Hammerstein II, and how these two men worked together as an unstoppable duo that changed the world of musical theatre. Engage with the history and background of musical theatre's past through hands-on learning activities to better understand the world of musical theatre today!
Children in Grades 9-12 can opt into voice from 9:00pm-10:00 for an additional cost.
