Our Scholarship Funds Fuel Our Commitment to Creating Access to the Transformative Power of the Performing Arts
Civic Theatre School, which is the oldest continuously operating youth theatre education program in the Lehigh Valley, serves as Civic Theatre's main youth outreach initiative since 1956. Civic Theatre School remains a cornerstone resource for young people in the community to explore their creativity, build confidence, and develop and appreciation for the arts. The program includes three annual sessions of performing arts training for students in first through twelfth grade. Sessions run two weeks each summer, and Saturdays in the Fall and Winter.
Summer and Fall sessions culminate with a student showcase, and Winter session students are invited to audition to participate in the Spring Civic Theatre School Musical Production. CTS students are additionally encouraged to audition for mainstage Civic Theatre productions all season long.
On average, 60 students are awarded our need based scholarships annually from a pool of deserving applicants. Your support of the Betty T. and Bob Muir Scholarship Fund, and our Civic Theatre Scholarship Fund make it possible to extend much-needed financial support to families across our community to unlock the transformative power of the performing arts.
