FAQ

  1. When is the Box Office open?

    The Civic Theatre Box Office is open for walk up and phone sales Tuesday- Friday 12:00pm-6:00pm and Saturday 10:00am-4:00pm) - 610.433-8903. Please note, phone sales are not open outside of these hours.

    Additionally, walk up sales open for films 30 minutes before show time.

    Live Theatre walk up sales open 1 hour before show time.

  2. Where can I park?

    Open street parking is available on Liberty Street and Allen Street, as well as parking in the Allentown fairgrounds through gate 8, which is only 325 steps away from our main doors! Additionally, the 19th Street Wells Fargo kindly allows Civic patrons to utilize their parking lot when they are not open for business (Monday-Friday after 5 PM, Saturday after 12 PM, and all day Sunday)

    Please note: If you patronized The Udder Bar or Sleepy Cat Urban Winery before the show, please move your vehicle before you come to the theatre. Parking is at a premium in the West End. Only park in their lots while patronizing their businesses, and please patronize their businesses. Thank you for enjoying and respecting our Theatre District neighbors. 

    Suggested parking areas:

    Wells Fargo Bank (ONLY when the bank is not open for operation) at 522 N 19th Street, Allentown, PA
    Liberty Street - along the north end of the fairgrounds
    Allen Street - open street parking, as available 

  3. What is "Will Call" ?

    Will Call is where pre-purchased tickets may be picked up before a live theatre performance.

    The Will Call window is located at the main entrance of the 19th Street Theatre in the historic ticket booth, and opens 1 hour before live theatre productions. Prior to this, pre-purchased tickets may be picked up in the interior Box Office.

  4. Film schedules for the weekend ahead are announced by Wednesday, on our website and via email.

  5. What is your refund and exchange policy?

    Live Theatre tickets may be exchanged in advance during Box Office hours. A fee of $5 per ticket applies to all exchanges.

    Unfortunately, past-date exchanges are not offered.

    Civic Theatre of Allentown currently has a no-refund policy.

    However, unused Live Theatre tickets can be converted into a tax-deductible donation to the Theatre.

  6. What is your late seating policy?

    For live theatre productions, once the performance begins, late seating will be done at the discretion of the House Manager. Patrons who arrive late will be seated in the back of the theatre and may move to their assigned seats at intermission.

  7. What fees apply to my order?

    Processing fees of $4 per ticket will be applied to tickets purchased online and over the phone, as well as on Live Theatre tickets purchased in person.

    Processing fees of $2 per ticket will be applied to tickets purchased on Choose What You Pay (CWYP) Thursdays.

    There are NO processing fees charged on film tickets purchased in person.

  8. Do you sell Gift Certificates?

    Civic Theatre offers both Film Vouchers and Gift Certificates. To purchase, call or visit the Box Office.

    Film Vouchers can be redeemed for any film ticket up to $10.00

    Gift Certificates can be purchased in any amount, and may be redeemed for film tickets, live theatre tickets, and concessions.

  9. When do the doors open before shows?

    For Film screenings, walk up sales and doors for seating open 30 minutes before showtime.

    For Live Theatre performances, the Box Office and Will Call open 1 hour before showtime. Doors for seating will open at the discretion of Stage Management, typically 30 minutes before showtime.

  10. What is your policy for inclement weather?

    Live theatre productions are cancelled for inclement weather only in the case of a State of Emergency.

    Film screenings are cancelled at the discretion of Civic Theatre Management.

    All notices of cancellations will be posted on Civic's social media, and sent to our email list as soon as the decision is made.

  11. When are auditions?

    Upcoming auditions for Civic Theatre are announced periodically on our Auditions page.
