Grow! Civic Theatre School kids don’t just learn how to act but gain important life skills that help them grow. Students involved in the arts watch less TV and display more tolerant behavior towards others! Classes like those at Civic Theatre help foster positive achievement, collaborative-working and critical-thinking skills. Studies have shown that theatre classes can not only enhance creativity, but help develop skills that assist in learning languages and even mathematics.
Learn! Since theatre education is an interdisciplinary art form it satisfies our human need to express thoughts and feelings through written text, dramatic interpretation and multimedia production. The Civic Theatre School, the oldest continually operating theatre education program in the Lehigh Valley, is based in solid educational principles and incorporates many of the elements of the Pennsylvania Education Standards for the Arts and Humanities.

An exciting SOLD OUT Summer Session of Civic Theatre School is underway July 14-22 and we are excited to announce:
Registration for our Fall Theatre School Session will open on
Thursday July 17th, 2025
Need-Based Scholarship Applications will be accepted from July 15th through August 5th
Fall Civic Theatre School will run Saturdays September 6-Saturday November 8
Students will enjoy a one-hour Drama class and a one-hour Movement class.
Session Objectives:
Students will explore theatre games, improvisation, theatre terminology, scenes and monologues as well as movement for musical theatre that is appropriate for their age level.
Optional Voice Lesson:
This is an optional additional specialty class, not a stand alone class. You may NOT select the Voice class option unless you have also chosen the standard drama/movement class appropriate for your student's grade level.
Fall Session Culminates with a showcase on November 8th for students to demonstrate the skills they have worked on over the course.
CTS will not meet on Saturday October 11th in observance of Indigenous Peoples Day
