Presented by the students of Civic Theatre School's Act Out Loud Summer Intensive, Godspell JR. is a joyful and inspiring musical that brings timeless parables to life through music, storytelling, and unforgettable performances. Featuring an uplifting score with beloved songs like Day by Day, this heartwarming production celebrates kindness, compassion, friendship, and the power of community.
The original Godspell was the first major musical theatre offering from three-time Grammy and Academy Award-winner, Stephen Schwartz, and it took the world by storm. Boasting a score with chart topping songs, Godspell JR. is a sensation that continues to touch audiences.
A group of disciples help Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and a hefty dose of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, are employed as the story of Jesus' life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus' messages of kindness, tolerance and love come vibrantly to life.

About Act Out Loud
Act Out Loud is Civic's immersive two-week summer intensive that challenges teen performers to rehearse, build, and present a fully staged musical in front of a live audience in just 14 days. Designed to mirror the pace and expectations of a professional theatre environment, the program encourages students to grow as artists while building confidence, collaboration, and performance skills.
