Have a new play ready to be heard?
Civic Theatre is seeking four completed plays by local playwrights for our January New Play Readings Series. One selected play will be presented each Wednesday in January, on January 6, January 13, January 20, and January 27, 2027.
The series gives playwrights an opportunity to hear their work performed aloud, experience their script from an audience perspective, and continue developing their work through the reading process. Each selected play will be paired with an experienced director, giving playwrights the opportunity to step back from the production process and gain valuable artistic insight.
Priority will be given to Lehigh Valley playwrights. We are looking for plays that are complete, properly formatted, edited, and ready to be presented in full as a public reading.
If you have a new play ready to share, we want to hear it. Bring your work to Civic and help us create a space where local stories, playwrights, and new ideas can take center stage.
